Plot Summary
Outside supplements the tale of a Filipino family starting anew during a surreal scenario in what can only be described as a psychological attack on their family. Francis, Iris, Josh, and Lucas relocate to the countryside despite Francis’ desire to remain in his childhood home. The call to remain in the camp was to Francis a call of evolution where his vulnerability would remain intact. There is simply much for a scorned man to experience, so much vulnerability.
What leads Josh to run away?
The new house from the farm seems much deflating to Josh and Lucas, leaving them brainwashed by the domineering attitude Francis puts towards all of them. There was once a whisper of him being a resounding and always angry voice in the family that kept the “real” Josh within indoor walls of reason. Later in this story, we quickly learn a compelling twist that Josh is not even Francis’ son and this explains a lot more the decision to run away from him out of necessity to find solace and freedom of the soul.
A soldier appears out of nowhere to offer some assistance and the mother manages to escape from an aided influencer’s grip. Upon relocation and in search of warmth, the boy appears to be lost only to hear that the parameters for a safe camp out are all hit. It’s Joshua who decides to flee so he can help the flesh he’s been waiting to see for ages. Hopefully, she’d be at ease.
What were the reasons for the actions of Francis regarding Iris and Lucas?
As Francis grows increasingly paranoid regarding the members of his family and asserts that they should remain within the house and pretend as if all is well, he turns against the other members of his family after he discovers that Josh is gone. After watching the soldier have his meal, Francis loses his temper and hits him on the head with a hammer, locking up Iris and Lucas in a basement where Francis himself is locked by his overbearing father.
What does Francis finally become at the end of the movie?
With no means of escaping their captors, Iris and Lucas make up an escape plan. Lucas lets out a shout, and hearing him, Francis panics, kneeling in the basement where Iris and Lucas are. Frances is hit from behind by Iris who manages to get inside the basement, locking him up before the two make their escape.
As luck would have it, when they make their way outside, they run into a zombie that chases them back into the safety of the house. Iris manages to scream at Francis while trying to fend off the zombies and the infected, but it’s too late, and Lucas is bitten by a zombie. Francis manages to kill the zombies and reach them, but the curse has already been cast.
After arriving, Lucas is treated with some first aid by Iris, who is a nurse, before his arm is cut off because it is already infected. Iris informs Francis that Lucas must be treated, and so Francis goes to the bridge where the vehicle is parked. At the site, he meets Josh. The man had settled in a dark place, took Francis for a zombie, and murdered him. During a virtual confrontation with Josh in the flashback scene, it is exposed that despite the suffering, he used to see Josh as his son.
How has the fate of Lucas, Josh and Iris shaped up?
After unintentionally killing Francis, Kate returns to the house and drives to the Zune with the vehicle. The movie, an approach which successfully resolves the conflicts is given and ends here, but probably the trio reaches the camp and survives an outbreak in three to four months.
